/Stipe_position_-_apical.jpg)
Stipe position should be assessed on mature fruit-bodies. If the position varies from immature to mature fruit-bodies, record this feature from the mature fruit-bodies. When the stipe is not central, it may be quite short in relation to the pileus diameter.
Choose this state if: there is no stipe arising from among the lamellae. The fruit-body is attached to the substrate by the drawn out apex of the pileus which forms a pseudostipe. If the pileus is attached directly to the substrate, without a pseudostipe, choose absent (sessile).
