Record this feature on mature fruit-bodies. The immature stipe is often much broader at the base than at the apex. Record this feature separately to the Stipe base shape.

Choose this state if: the stipe is much wider in the middle section, tapering to a narrower diameter above and below. The widest point is about mid-way up the stipe or a little below this. The shape is ventricose.
