Spore outline (end): elliptical
images/Spore_outline_(end)_elliptical/Spore_end_view_shape-elliptic.jpg
Spores are in end (or polar) view when the long axis of the spore points directly towards the observer. Familiarise yourself with the appearance of the spores in side and face view, so that you can recognise the end view. For the end view it does not make much difference whether you are viewing the spore from one end or the other.

Choose this state if: the end view of the spore is distinctly elliptical.

The spore is flattened, so that the breadth (the distance between the sides in face view) exceeds the width (the distance between the sides in side view).
