Pileus margin grooved, ribbed or pleated: yes
images/Pileus_margin_grooved_ribbed_or_pleated_yes/Pileus_margin_grooved_present.jpg
This feature refers to any grooves, raised ribs or pleats that occur at the pileus margin (extending from the edge towards the middle of the pileus). Whether the pileus is translucent-striate is a separate feature.

Assess this feature on fresh fruit-bodies, otherwise the pileus may appear pleated due to shrinkage on drying.

Choose this state if: the pileus margin has distinct raised radial ribs or ridges, or it is radially grooved or pleated. The ridges may be continuous, or each ridge can be composed of a series of small bumps (tuberculate-striate). Other terms for this state are sulcate, corrugated and pectinate (with short ridges like a comb).

Do not choose this state if there are stripes (striae) that are not raised on the surface (but are translucent-striate), or if there are stripes differring only in colour or stripes caused by fibrils that are closely appressed to the pileus surface. If the pileus surface is radially cracked, see Pileus surface (cracks, pits or wrinkles).
