Pileus margin grooved, ribbed or pleated: no (margin smooth)
images/Pileus_margin_grooved_ribbed_or_pleated_no_(margin_smooth)/Pileus_margin_grooved_absent.jpg
This feature refers to any grooves, raised ribs or pleats that occur at the pileus margin (extending from the edge towards the middle of the pileus). Whether the pileus is translucent-striate is a separate feature.

Assess this feature on fresh fruit-bodies, otherwise the pileus may appear pleated due to shrinkage on drying.

Choose this state if: the margin of the pileus is smooth (apart from any hairs or scales), and it does not have any grooves, raised ribs or pleats. Any striae (stripes) at the pileus margin are due to the pileus being translucent-striate.
