This feature relates to the presence of few to many branches (or protuberances) on the pileocystidia, irrespective of the overall shape (Pileocystidia shape) and any apical modifications (Pileocystidia apex shape). Branches can be apical, or along the length of pileocystidia.

Choose this state if: there are several to many branches present which are apical, erect and relatively long and finger-like. If the branches are short, see nodulose; if there are branches on the body of the cystidium rather than at the apex, see diverticulate.

Cystidia with digitate branches are also called Siccus-type broom cells (celles or cystides en brosse).
