Observe lamellae spacing by turning the fruit-body over and looking at the lamellae edge-on.

Choose this state if: the lamellae (and any lamellulae) are far apart, and there are comparatively few lamellae. The space between adjacent lamellae (or lamellulae) is very obvious.
