To see cross veins, turn the fruit-body over and look between the lamellae. Look also for anastomosed (fused) lamellae and lamellulae, and for buttresses at right angles to the lamellae.

Choose this state if: lamellae are quite straight, and with only very rare cross veins, anastomoses or buttresses.
