Lamellae intervenose: markedly intervenose

To see cross veins, turn the fruit-body over and look between the lamellae. Look also for anastomosed (fused) lamellae and lamellulae, and for buttresses at right angles to the lamellae.

Choose this state if: there are frequent cross veins which may be shallow or the same depth as the main lamellae and lamellulae. Adjacent lamellae and lamellulae are often not straight and may be anastomosed (fused). Cross veins can be close enough to make some sections of the lamellae appear poroid. There can be distinct buttresses at right angles to the lamellae (with the buttresses broader at the top of the lamellae near the pileus). Other terms for this state are interconnected and costate (for the buttresses).

This state is often associated with decurrent lamellae.

If there are many forks in lamellae which are somewhat regularly arranged, see lamellae forked.
