Observe forked lamellae by turning the fruit-body over and looking at the lamellae edge-on.
Choose this state if: there are numerous forks in the lamellae, more or less regularly arranged. The series of lamellae formed at each fork can mirror the series of lamellulae (short lamellae) that are present when lamellae are not forked. If there are only one or a couple of forks, do not choose this state.
This state is particularly well shown in Austropaxillus, but quite a few other genera are included under this state because forking can be present to some degree.
