Cystidia may have a capping of coarse crystals or resinous material. This is often associated with thick walls, particularly for a crystalline capping (when the cystidia are called metuloids) (see Thick-walled cystidia).
Choose this state if: there are no obvious crystals or resinous encrustation on the exterior of the apex of hymenial cystidia (cheilocystidia and/or pleurocystidia).
